My computer running windows 10 sometimes restarts without warning. It does not display any error message and just boots up like normal. The peculiar thing is that when it opens to my desktop some of my desktop shortcuts are misplaced and a strewn through my two monitors.

Solution
These random restarts aren't windows update restarting machine?

does this work?

SIMPLE METHOD OF AVOIDING YOUR ICONS MOVING WITH MULTIPLE DESKTOPS:

1- Get all of your icons where you want them.
2- Right click the desktop. Select "View". Uncheck the "Align icons to grid" box.
3- If you want to move icons around later just recheck the box, move your icons, then uncheck it again.
