PC Running Games MUCH slower than usual

I've noticed that my PC has started to run all games at a much lower frame rate than usual. For example; NFS Most Wanted was running @1080p 60FPS yesterday, and today I have noticed a significant drop in performance, running at 1080p 40fps.

PC Specs:
AMD A8-7600 @3.1Ghz
AMD Radeon HD 7950 @925Mhz
Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-HD3 Motherboard

Yes it is; everything's running fine now though.

That's awesome. It could be that the system was checking or updating with new patches. The process will slow down everything else user wants to run for a while.
