[SOLVED] PC running poorly only on specific games

For some reason, specific games just run like absolute garbage on my computer for what seems like no reason. For example, in Minecraft I get a pretty unstable ~30 fps on low setting w/ optifine, yet on Rainbow Six Siege I get 120 fps on very high and 1080p. I have a hunch that it may be my CPU bottlenecking but it seems to be a relatively recent issue. In Apex Legends I can barely hit 45 fps on trios on lowest setting, where before I'd get 90ish on medium settings. I know my computer isn't great but I feel like it should be doing better than it is. Running Win10 Pro, and have updated AMD drivers. It shouldn't be heatthrottling either as I have a cryorig H7. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Specs:
-i7 2600
-RX 580 8g
-16gb ddr3 1333mhz
- CoolerMaster MWE Bronze 550w
-GA-Z78-UD3-iSSD
-120g mSATA ssd & 1tb hdd

^ the answer hasn't changed since you last posted here.

Just for reference, Gigabyte never came out with a Z78 chipset board, neither did Intel release a Z78 chipset.

On that note, what version(not Edition) of Windows 10 are you on? For the sake of relevance, can you check and see what BIOS version you're on for your motherboard? You seem to have BISO versions pending update(if you do, gradually work your way up to the latest).

Cpu is turboing properly so it couldn't be heat seeing that. In future don't just assume cooling is good based on cooler and actually see temps in realtime with Coretemp or similar if something has changed.

Thing that points out to me in UB results is space left on the ssd. Performance issues can happen with 20GB or less space. Try clear space and see if that improves.

Thanks Lutfij.

Back then it seems throttling was an issue along with much higher background activity. This time, somewhat less background stuff but now system drive is almost full. If system ran fine since that thread, increasing system drive space is what id try next.

Chipset was just a typo since they said z68 in first thread.

When you run a benchmark test you have to close out any apps, tabs, proceeses that may run in baackground. The test is the only thing that should be open to get a more accurate test result.
