PC running slow after new graphics card is installed

Hi everyone,

I updated my Graphics card from a Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 to a Sapphire Radeon R9 270x. I manage to play some games on it, running beautifully, i.e BF4 at ultra at a nice framerate, AC4 actually work without lagging.
However, after about 45 minutes on BF4, it starts to slow down a lot. Even when I close the game, the PC runs slow.

I know that this is NOT a power issue, as I had the card installed at a local computer solutions shop and they installed a new PSU that sufficiently powers my R9.

Other notes:

• 
  The computer takes a lot longer to start up.
  
  I am leaving the side of the case off my computer to prevent overheating (as recommended by the computer shop).
  
  Another small problem is that my PC now cannot start up Payday 2, and when I try to verify the integrity of the game cache, It goes to about 20% before I get a blue screen (not a blue screen of death, I think, It only stays up for a couple of seconds before I get a black screen at have to restart the PC).Can anyone shed some light here?

So here are my other PC specs:

(Customized) Acer Aspire M3802.
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Core Q8300
RAM: 4GB DDR2
GPU: Radeon R9 270X
Mainboard: Acer EG43M

CPU-Z says that all the software is running as it should, my processor is averaging out 1999.96 MHz.

So the PC shop tells you they installed a new PSU, which one did they install? They tell you to keep the side off. No repair shop should ever tell you to take the side off to prevent overheating. It could very well be overheating. Monitor temps with HW Monitor. Or they may not have replaced your PSU or replaced it with a cheap piece of garbage. Im kinda glad that ive never stepped foot into someone elses PC repair shop cause it sounds like the majority of them are just absolutely terrible.

agree with above, poster. sounds sketchy and Sound like it could be. Could also be RAM filling up and windows is using virtual memory after you close battlefield.

did you wipe out old drivers with a driver cleaner program and reinstall new driver? Could be driver conflicts.

Bluescreen would be a heat or driver thing. Can you send a mini-dump? I can analyze at home for you later

Well, they opened it up in front of me and noticed that my default power supply only had one cable coming from it when I need two for the GPU and told me that they would have to install a new one. The new PSU is an Ace ATX 600 watt, and my GPU only need 500 watts. He told me that the other option is to get a water cooling system but they may not fit in my PC as i'm still using the default PC case.

Right now the temperatures for the CPU cores are ranging from 33C to 38C, but I've seen a coupe of spikes lasting less than a second up to just over 40C. The R9 is staying solid at 35C. I'll try running BF4 in windowed mode and check my temperatures then.

I don't think I wiped out my old drivers. I'll look into the driver solution, thanks.
