i built this pc around 2 and a half years ago. This pc was running great. But recently many problems spiked up like overheating issues(I have the amd stock cooler) but i tackled them all.

Recently my pc started restarting without any warning(not a overheating issue as i was monitoring the temperature). After looking around on the internet i found out that the psu might be at fault so i am going to replace it after sometime.

Dont know what came across my mind, i decided to run my pc with oc genie enabled and to my shock the pc did not restart at all. To test again i played games, ran 4k videos on two chrome tabs but still did not restart.

I disabled ocg and booted my computer but it again started restarting so currently i am running ocg but it worries me because the heat sink fan is really loud and Piriform speccy is showing 75 to 79 celsius but the temp does not go up or down and remains constant no matter what i am doing.

i also checked the voltage on my processor.
with ocg- 1.3 volts to 1.5
without ocg-1.05 volts
These readings are from the bios.
If there is no fix to this i guess i have to make a ryzen build then.
Any help would be appreciated.THANKS!!!!!:)

Solution
Boys i fixed.
I basically underclocked my cpu from 4.2 ghz to 3.2 ghz and i have had no issues since then.My temperatures are around 45 to 50 when browsing through internet and other stuff.
Thanks helpstar for helping me.

but if i run with ocg how long will it last?
And will it hamper my gpu because if i make a new build i will probably use this gpu.
And can my psu be at fault?
Thanks for answering though

Solution
well basically my cpu was getting more voltage than it was required hence the heat and restarts.
i underclocked it i.e decreased the voltage and clock speed.
I am pretty sure that i can run the machine at 3.8 ghz with a good cooler and correct voltage rate.
Thanks though!!!!!!

when i run my pc at 3.8ghz the temp goes above 55 while idling and mostly itss becoz of the amd stock cooler which sucks. If i get a new cooler a good one then i will be able to get the temp down to around 45 @3.8ghz.
