I bought a Quantum 100 headset from JBL a few days ago and tried using it today. My PC ( a Dell Inspiron 3668 i3-7100 running 64 bit Windows 10) can only detect the headphones and use them as audio. The mic is detachable from the headphones through a TS 3.5mm jack and the headset as a whole has a TRRS jack. I made sure the port I was plugging the jack into was one meant for a TRRS jack (it even has an icon of a set of headphones with a mic next to it, meaning it's meant for a whole headset). JBL claims the Quantum 100's are compatible on all platforms, but I've tried everything and my PC still cannot detect the mic.

I don’t think that’s the issue. My Dell Inspiron 3668 is a desktop PC, not a laptop. It has one jack on the front with an icon that has a headset with a mic next to it. I definitely know it’s TRRS because I checked the manual and it says the jack is meant for a headphone and mic COMBO, meaning both headphones and mic for the single jack.
