PC says it has internett

So i recently moved my pc into my room and got a longer internet cable, when i started up my pc it all looked normal. my pc said i had internet and i tried to connect to youtube but it wont load. skype cant log on and so on. it is getting signals all the ips n stuff matches with my laptops wireless ips n stuff so what is going on?

First thing I'd check is the cable if that was the only thing that was changed. Try another computer on that cable see if it works.
