PC seems to get stuck

I have had a problem where my PC seems to get stuck:
Its video output gets stuck on the last frame it displayed, no input works anymore and audio seems like its looping a split second of what was playing which ends up sounding like stutter.
In the past this would go on for 5-10 minutes and then either resolve itself or crash to a bluescreen; the bluescreens and the qeneral problem were getting more frequent recently until I changed the Graphics Card from an AMD Raddeon 6800 Series to a GeForce gtx 560 and now it pretty much only happens when I'm playing Deus Ex:Mankind Divided the most demanding game that I play but doesnt go away by itself anymore.
I have an Alienware Aurora R3 with expanded Ram; here are the current Specs:
12GB Ram
64 Bit OS
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2300 CPU @ 2.80GHu 2. GHz
I pulled the specs from the Windows PC information tab.
Happy to give any more info necessary I have no Idea how to fix this or what to do and have been just dealing with it for years while it was still resolving the issue by itself...

What is the memory? Where did the "expanded" come from? Do you have a part number or link to the memory? 12GB is an out-of-the ordinary size for a dual channel memory motherboard.

Try pulling out the unmatched 4gb stick of RAM and see if it happens again. RAM can be funny sometimes, mixing RAM, even from the same model, can have negative consequences.
