Pc setup to play wow at max settings

Hello,
I am playin wow right now with a sony computer that was bought from best buy about 6 years ago. I have max the current computer out as far as it could go without changing everything like the motherboard and cpu chip. i have about a $800 dollar to $1000 budget and would like to build a rig to play WOW on max settings and maybe some battlefield 3 on at least high settings.i currlently get like 10-12 FPS in a 25 man raid during most fights and currently play at 1920x1080 res.i know if i drop the res i would get better FPS but once u go max res its hard to go back.So i am just needing some help on building a rig and what i would need to play these games on max settings without having to buy a custom rig from IBUYPOWER.com

That still leaves less than you a little less than $300, you could get a GTX 580 and still have a little left over. What I suggested should be fine and run BF3 + WOW on high without a problem. With the extra $300 I would suggest getting a better motherboard for future upgradeability, and the Windows 7 Home OS if you need it.

Also, if there's a Microcenter nearby you then you could get the i5 2400 for $160, saving you an extra $20. Only problem is that you have to get it in store, they won't ship it to you for that price.

No, if you put the info from the build into this Power Supply Calculator, you get 458 watts. You should always add 100, so lets say 560. Then just in case you need usb or anything else in there, let's say 600 watts. You should have enough with the 620 watt that I linked. So you should be able to fit the GTX 580 in.

You do NOT need a gtx 580 , or even a 6950 to max out WOW

Use the i5 2400 quadcore
2 x2 gig of RAM
and if you want a truckload of headroom then include a 6950 ,

Tom to the rescue, again. Tom's Hardware has a World of Warcraft performance guide from December 2010. You can look at it and judge for yourself. I consider minimum frame rates that never fall below 30 to be good gameplay; anything over that is overkill. Using that standard, it really doesn't take much to max out the game on ultra. You do want a DX-11 card and a quad-core CPU. Pretty much any modern quad-core and either an HD 5770 or a GTX 460 will get you there, but there are other games that want more, so get the best GPU/CPU combo you can afford. Our friend fallout3masseffect2 has the right idea, but I'd be thinking i5 2500k, myself.

If you get the 580 you will be able to max out BF3 as well. Just lettin you know how much so thats overkill for WoW... haha. But i mean, if you can afford the 580, go ahead and go for it... How much do you game?

If I were you, I'd just this $500 build. The 6870 can easily max WoW and play new games at high.
