[SOLVED] pc shuts down abruptly when gaming and gives power surge warning on startup

My pc seems to work fine for most of the day but after it being on for a while usually 5-6 hours, it shuts down abruptly when playing games, then it starts again without any input which only happened during power outage before. When the pc starts again it gives me a power surge warning. it doesn't do that when I'm not gaming and before I could still play games as long as it wasn't that specific one. the problem went away for a month but now it's back again except it shuts down no matter what I play. I don't have any other PSU's to test it but I don't want to buy a new one without fully knowing whether it's actually the PSU

Having the same exact issue, still don't know what it is about and I don't want to risk buying a new PSU

What are your system specs?

Please list full pc spec including make and model of the psu. This does sound typical of a psu problem, in gaming pc's the psu is under its highest load when gaming. PSU's do deteriorate with time and usage, low quality ones deteriorate faster.

Having the same exact issue, still don't know what it is about and I don't want to risk buying a new PSU

If the psu is no longer under warranty and you suspect it might be failing then best to change. If it fails it can damage other components.
