PC Shuts Down During Use

So for the past couple of weeks my PC has been shutting down at random times. Whether it be during web surfing, listening to music, or gaming it just shuts down without any warning. I know it isn't my electrical outlet because my monitor and speakers are still lit when this happens. The motherboard's built in status LEDs are also on when this happens. It has happened both with Windows 7 and Windows 10. Of all the times that this has happened I haven't gotten the BSOD (Not complaining!). I think I may know what the issue is, it may be my case's power button. I have to press down really hard on the power button in order to get computer going, maybe there's something wrong with cabling for the power button? Anyhow here are my computer's specs:

OS: Windows 10 64-Bit
Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VII Hero 1150
CPU: i7 4790k 4.0GHz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3
GPU: MSI GTX 970 LE 4GB
HDD: WDC Blue 1TB x 2
PSU: XFX XTR 650w by Seasonic

Thanks.

Solution
I started having this problem before, eventually it wouldn't turn on. It was my Hard Drive dying. I had the same HDD (brand, model, size) as you. I'm not saying that this is specifically the case, but it does seem coincidental.

Edit: Basically, my computer was still on, but without anything to run, because the Drive stopped working. Restarting it would start the drive up again, but then the drive would stop working again, randomly, and it would blue screen again.

Edit 2: It's not a total loss(possibly). I was able to plug my old drive in as a slave/data drive and access it for the files. I don't save anything to it anymore, but I can still see it when I turn my computer on, so it's there if I need some random folder.

I sure hope it's not my hard drive, if it is I'll just switch over my other drive which I bought about 2 weeks ago. Besides the drives do you think it could be something else?

Well, This (almost guaranteed) doesn't apply to you, considering that it started happening recently, but when I got my computer (prebuilt in 2011) the main drive wasn't hooked up to the correct SATA port. Turns out Mobo's have a specific port they want the Operating System to be on. Once I found this out, and switched ports it stopped...for 3 years, until my drive died.

How about this, because the guys that helped me (and the reason I'm still on this site today 5 years later) needed my Bluescreen error code. You can't take a screenshot, but if you take a phone picture, and tell us the code, or if you upload the pic to a site like Imgur, and share the link, you might get squared away by some person FAR more knowledgeable than me.

Or you could google your code and compare our feedback to your own research.

Thanks for that, but what I wrote up in the OP was a typo I meant to say I haven't gotten a BSOD yet. And for the post before that my OS has been working fine with the current SATA configuration. I'll try switching drives sometime later in the day (it's 12 AM where I am).

Read up on which ports are what, because they don't show numbers on them. If you have the book that came with your Mobo, that's where I'd start. Check to make sure that the drive plugged into Port 1 is your primary Drive. Mine was plugged into Port 2 because it was more convenient (closer) than port 1.

Alright, not sure if this is bumping, but I need help figuring out what's going on here.
I recently replaced by PSU, it's the same brand but with a wattage of 850w. My PC has suddenly been shutting down.
I don't believe it's the hard drive that was the issue, I've had out of my PC for quite some time now. Any ideas as to what's going on?

Edit: I'm also using a power strip with a couple of things plugged into it, such as a 20w guitar amp, logitech speakers, monitor, and my tower. Do you think this could be an issue?

Edit 2: Just did a CPU stress test using Prime95 for 30 minutes, my PC didn't shut down during this. I will do a GPU stress test next.

Edit 3: Did a GPU stress test for 30 minutes, my PC didn't shut down. Perhaps a memory stress test?

It kinda, sorta is. You can create a new article by clicking the "ASK the Community" Button. What happens if someone else answers your question, do they get the new 'best answer?'

1. Try only your tower in the power strip, maybe the others are triggering a voltage protection.
2. Try a new power strip, maybe your new PSU is pulling enough power to trigger voltage protection.
3. Run both stress tests at the same time. Did it shut down?

Yeah I don't mean to have your shine taken away. I'll start a new thread once the problem arises again.
I have plugged my PSU directly in to the wall rather than into the power strip. Since then my PC hasn't shut down during browsing or intense gaming.
