Ok...so I got a corsair vs550w psu yest (to replace my intex 450w) so as to power my new gtx 660 n possible future upgrades....

After plugging in d psu today n making sure all d connectors go where they are supposed to...i turned d pc on bt it jus wont..its shuts down after 1 sec or so...d boot screen doesnt even load up..d fans go on for lyk 1 sec nd den off...
No matter hw oftn I try it...its in vain..

I havent even plugged d gtx 660 yt..

I plugged d old psu back in ...n damn it wrks normally....so now I know I didnt damage d mobo...

What do I do?!...i need to act fast since I have nly 10 day replacemnt guarantee for bth psu n gtx 660..

My rest of d specs are:
Intel i3 540
4 gb ddr3 ram

ya...i know that my current psu meets the min wattage req.....but it doesnt have the 6 pin connector....which if i m not wrong is needed by the gpu...
thats one of the few reasons that i got a new psu...

cmg back to the prob:
i read on a blog:"http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbysymptom/ht/pconthenoff.htm"

"Tip: If you do end up replacing the PSU, keep the computer plugged in for at least 5 minutes before you try powering it on. This gives time for the CMOS battery to charge a little."

is this true....is it worth giving a shot?
