OS Windows 11

I bought custom power cables (PCIE, CPU and 24 PIN). 2 days ago while I was in there changing them out, I also:
  • Popped in an M.2 drive that had W10 on it
  • Popped in a Sata SSD drive, and
  • Re-orientated the AIO cooler so the main lines were more out of the way of the 24 PIN.
  • Re-added thermal paste.
After plugging everything back in, I powered up and the screen showed that it was doing windows updates. After a minute or two, the PC powered down by itself. Ok, I started it up again, got into BIOS and designated the correct m.2 to boot from. After doing this, the screen went black and again it shut down.
NOTE, there's still the regular constant light from the mobo on while the PC is plugged in, the fans turn on, the gpu fan spins momentarily, as does the PSU fan (though they both turn off quickly, I'm assuming that's normal as there is nothing intense going on).

Another time trying to start it resulted in nothing but black screen and eventually turning off.

So, I began replacing the cables one by one, still the problem continued. Eventually, today I removed both the added hard drives, removed the custom cables minus the PCIE, and removed the GPU. I started her up, I had a bios screen to continue and I was able to get to the desktop. I did not linger and turned off the unit, re-installed the GPU, started her up, and after being on the desktop for about 20 seconds, the PC turned off again.

I have a feeling something is perhaps overheating? I think this because I was able to get to desktop today while the PC sat overnight, but idk.

Any suggestions on what to do?

You might want to try and remove all of your aftermarket cables and see if you're able to get POST>OS GUI.

The other thing to note is that you're able to get to OS GUI without a discrete GPU in there. Might indicate an issue with the PSU. How old is the unit?

It's not even a year old.

Was the drive with Windows 10 on it, created with the hardware you now have? If not a new install might be in order.

So I unconneced gpu. Started up and I was initially presented with windows recovery screen, to either "see advanced repair options or restart my pc." I explored the advance options but selected to shutdown. I started the pc up again and it immediately went to my login screen. I was on my desktop for about 3:50 this time and it eventually shutdown by itself again..

Any thoughts on that? The PSU fan does spin initially before stopping at every start up.

Have you tried a fresh install of the OS?
