hi there, I really need someone's help
my computer keeps cutting out randomly when im playing watch dogs.

today i installed my gtx 770 into my system and i was playing Lego marvel no problem
but then i booted up watch dogs and right at the cut-scene where hes beating the guy in the
stadium my pc shuts off and then turns on automatically. i plugged the kettle lead into the mains, but that didn't solve anything. i adjusted the fan speed .is it my psu? is it sufficient for the graphics card? i have a molex to 8 pin converter for the card and use the 6-pin on the psu .when ,im using the pc normally like web browsing etc, my pc is fine

my pc is custom built

my pc :
intel core i5 3570k 3.4ghz
Palit jetstream gtx 770 4gb
asus p8 z77 v lx2
Corsiar XMS3 8GB 1600mz
Evo Labs pentium P4 650W

EDIT: on the psu it says

voltage Current frequency
230v 5A 50hz

UPDATE: i think im going to go for this one, thought it was pretty good price for corsair
what do you think?

I think you are probably on the right track suspecting the PSU, but it is difficult to know for sure. That said, if it were my system, regardless of whether the PSU is the problem or not, I'd replace it. Evo Labs is considered dangerous to your parts regardless of the model. Very cheap capacitors in its construction.

Do you have it in your budget to replace it?
XFX TS 550W $35.99 (after m.i.r.)

550W is enough to run a system with a gtx770, but if you want 650W for the overhead
XFX Core Edition 650W $49.99

Agree. Just FYI, i had similar problem before but with my AMD chip. When i play game the PC just shut off but without auto turn on. I resolved the problem by cleaning the CPU chipset, clean out old and dry CPU paste and replace with new paste. Now problem has complete gone.

You can check your CPU and GPU temperatures just to make sure overheating is not your problem.

My initial bet would be on the PSU though: a PSU marketed for Pentium 4 would be getting kind of old by now. There does not appear to be much info about Evo Labs PSUs out there and many comments about the brand are not really flattering, which sounds like they would be a tier 4 or 5 brand.

The maximum peak power of a GTX770 is about 250W with typical in-game power closer to 200W.

The rest of the system will be well under 100W.

So the whole system is unlikely to hit much more than 300W peak and should be fine on true 450W PSU.
