Please help me my computer randomly shuts down and doesn't restart every so often I have tried everything from replacing my PSU and ram to switching where my pc is located in my home computer management says Kernel Power 41 and I really don't know what to make with that info. ur my only hope at this point toms hardware.

My specs are as follows:
Motherboard: msi z170a pro, new
PSU: 650 watt, brand new
Processor: Intel Core i5 6600k, new
HDD: Wd black 2tb
Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 7900
Ram: Hyper x DDR4 2 4 gig modules

This problem occurred when I had my old PSU, motherboard and ram so I think those can be eliminated. It shuts down completely randomly, I can sometimes run for 4 hours + other times it will shut down after 5 min I can be in the middle of a game or just surfing the web. Ur my only hope at this point toms hardware.

I had an identical issue with my build, and it took me months to figure out, and I RMA'd every single part before I figured out what was going on. It turned out to be my ram timing setting in the BIOS. It was on auto and for some reason that was picking 1333 even though my ram was expecting 1600. After I changed my ram timing in the BIOS I have not had this happen since, been stable for a year now.

Really? would this possibly work for me as well? i'm looking into it right now but this is totally new to me. how would I know what setting to change the ram timing to?

well I figured out how to change some settings in the bios;
DRAM frequency was changed to 2400 instead of the auto 2133 and the timing is now 15-15-15-35 had it set to 36 instead of 35. I changed the voltage manually, didn't check what auto had it on. thank you, hopes this helps!
