PC shuts down while playing games.

A couple of months ago my PC started to shut down while playing some games. So far this has happened in The Witcher 3, Shadow of Mordor and Overwatch. This has happened around three times now over the course of 2 months. I suspect that the cause is either a failing PSU or an overheating CPU. I think the CPU is less likely becouse the maximum temps I've had were 73C while playing Persona 5 on the ps3 emulator and even after playing for over 70 hours it still has yet to crash. If anyone could provide help I would be thankful.
Update: I did a CPU stress test and the computer crashed. The max temps it reached were 73C. Is this a sign of the CPU being the problem?

You could run HWINFO in sensor mode, leave it running in the back ground, play your game(s), look at the MAX temps on CPU and GPU, to make sure neither go over 80-85c, also do you get any FPS drops while gaming ?

Max temps while playing shadow of mordor on ultra are for CPU 60C and GPU 67C. No fps drops.

and in HWINFO is the CPU cores all running at max Ratio mode (i.e. not stuck at x8 or x12 is it ?)
