So today i woke up and woke up my pc from sleep and it turned off. After starting it it would shut off after 5-20 seconds ( different every time) I took off the case and disconnected my 2 case fans to see if the other fans are spinning and the pc turns on and works fine. I don't know too much about computers so i don't know what to do next and how to troubleshoot the problem here.

u said it yourself, one or both of the case fans you dosconnected are damaged.
try to plug in one fan each time to see if the problem repeat itself with each fan.
after u find the problematic fan, just replace it with a new one.
at least now u know the your psu is effectively protects your rig from a short circuit.

I plugged in both fans and everything is working fine now
