The issue is the title. I play a game, nothing intense or out of the ordinary and my PC shuts off completely, no BSOD. Just black, and then a second later starts up with an American Megatrends screen telling me ASUS surge protector prevented a surge of power or something like that. I press F1 and am sent to BIOS, and then F10 to save and exit and it's back to normal. It happened twice so far, within an hour of each other. First time this is happening.

No problems with overheating

Specs:
CPU: 4790k
RAM: 16 GB dual channel
GPU: GTX 980
Mobo: Z97-A

Nothings overheated and no change has occurred software wise or physically ton the PC.

Edit: Also I've had this PC for almost one year and haven't had an issue yet.

Thank you in advance.

I had the same problem - after ordering a power supply and spending many different things by trial and error - found the problem to be the on/off switch from the mother bd. Replaced and have not had the problem. I thought I needed CPU or mother bd and it turned out to be a $5 cable.

This seems ton be the issue. After moving my desk slightly it turned right off after an hour or so of stability (ie where I wasnt fiddling with anything).
