I have an Asus Rog G20aj with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 graphics card. I have two power supplies, a 180W and a 230W pack. The computer runs fine, however whenever I launch new or high resolution game from Steam, my PC shuts off. I run games that can easily be handled by my graphics card, yet the pc still shuts off. When the PC shuts off, I can't simply just turn the PC back on. I have to unplug the power supply from the wall or the PC won't turn back on. If I unplug and plug back in the power supply from the back of the PC, the PC will not turn back on. It has to be unplugged from the wall. Is my power supply not able to support the graphics card? Because the PC does not overheat in any way.

Solution
Yeah so not sure how you have it hooked up but the graphics card will pull up to 75W from the PCI slot. So CPU + 75W PCI can easily get around 180W.

Probably should had read better he has an ASUS prebuilt.

It was designed like this.

I would call ASUS support. It's semi-proprietary we can't give the best advice on that system.

Yeah that makes sense, I'll just try and consult ASUS then
