So, recently I bought myself an MSI R9 270X (OC edition) to replace my aging ATI Radeon HD 6770 and after a few hours of gameplay, it killed my old PSU (a cheap Alpine 700w PSU, learnt they were bad the hard way) luckily nothing else got fried so I invested some money into a Corsair CX750. I recently managed to get my PC to boot up after a bit of trying, and everything was working, everything is fine. So I opened up Firefox and instantly my PC just shut of, no blue screen or anything, the fans all went off and that's that. After about 10 minutes I turned it on again with no issues, and once again after about 10-20minutes of running the PC shut off. So I tried again, turned on like normal, and tried to run a game: Microsoft Flight Simulator X. It ran fine for around a minute or so, but then once again it shut off.

I'm thinking of swapping the R9 270X with the Radeon HD 6770 to see if it's a problem with my graphics card, because my PSU is brand new and I've heard Corsair are a good psu manafactuer (correct me if I'm wrong).

No, it's not a heat issue. All my fans work fine, and I can't give you temps at the moment, but if running Firefox is causing my PC to overheat, I must have a serious issue with my PC. I recently installed a new chassis fan so I doubt heat is causing any problems 😉

Speedfan. I used to have heat issues a while ago, and I've fixed them with better fans. It's not a heat issue. I'm going to swap out my R9 for my old HD 6770 now, and see what happens.

Yes, it's not overheating. My PC shuts down even when simply browsing the internet, and as far as I know that doesn't place much stress on a graphics card.
