Question PC shutting off and wont turn on.

A friend of mine is having a problem where his pc shuts off without any warning what so ever, and wont turn on again. He got this problem, and i managed to fix it by unplugging all his drives and plugging them in again. The pc booted after reconnecting the drives and we got to play for a couple of hours, although it suddenly turned off again and reconnecting the drives didnt work.

When he presses the power button the cooling element in his cpu cooler blinks and nothing happenes. Does anyone know a fix for this problem?

Specs:
PSU : Corsair rm550x
GPU : nvidia 970 founders edition
Motherboard : MSI MPG z390
CPU : i7 8700K
CPU Cooler : Corsair hydro series h60
RAM : 2x Corsair Vengance 2666 Mhz 8g
He also has 3 drives, 1 HDD and 2 SSD's

take the gpu out, try running with just the igpu

I have tried that i also tried booting after disconnecting the drives

could be anything. take everything out, and test it out of the case
