PC Skyrim making crackling noise on my TV

Hello,

So I've just built my first gaming PC and I've been trying to play Skyrim on my TV using an HDMI cord from my GeForce GTX 670 to my Toshiba 720p TV. The problem is that when I play Skyrim on my TV, it makes a recurring crackling/distortion noise. The motherboard I'm currently using is the ASUS Maximus V FORMULA LGA though I'm not sure how relevant that is to my issue. All I know is my video card has audio capabilities.

Anyone know what the problem could be?

Have you tried muting the sounds on your TV and just have an external speaker for your PC and tested the sounds? It might be just your TV's speaker doing the distorted sounds not your videocard.

You're supposed to mute the TV when using another video card? I don't think that's the problem because it only happens with Skyrim but I'll certainly give it a try. Thanks!

No that didn't work. Muting the sound on my TV just mutes the entire sound.

... Of course it does. He suggested trying another set of speakers (not ones on the TV).

I apologize. I misread. I just tried it and it still crackles so it's not my TV. 🙁

Could you try using audio outputs of your PC to check whether it's HDMI output fault?
