PC sleep mode doesnt work

Everytime I click on the button to put my pc to "sleep" it only takes me to the log on screen and does not goto sleep or anything. I have looked at my power settings and such, but nothing there explains this problem.

I would prefer to put my PC to sleep when Im busy doing work on my PC and end up going to bed, cause I will usually have lots of things open doing different things.

Any help would be kindly appreciated

You know I couldn't find anyone else with the same problem you have, but check out these 2 sites. They will be able to give you all the information you need about troubleshooting problems with Sleep Mode in Vista!
