PC slow after utorrent download

I recently built my first pc and it was reassuringly fast... however i noticed an incredibly dramatic decrease in speed after i downloaded and installed utorrent. i immediatley uninstalled itbut it continues to have poor preformance. Specificly it takes alot longer to load webpages(at least 5 - 10 seconds for my homepage) Will reinstalling windows help? If not what should i do?

Well it sounds like a virus to me, you need to use various programs such as avast, mawayebytes etc to find out for sure. That seems to be what would be casing such immediate performance loss.

You may have downloaded a virus which isn't all too uncommon for people who are downloading torrents. What are your specs?

i have microsoft security essentials and i performed a full system scan and it said everything was fine

Asus maximus vi hero
Ripjaws X 8 gb ram
wd 1tb blue

MSE is alight, but it most likely missed something, using that in correlation with malwarebytes and avast will give you a better answer. I would say try all 3 and then try all 3 again in safe mode.

Kaspersky TDSSKiller is a good one to remove rootkits.
