Hello. So the problem I'm having is very awkward situation and I have 0 clue what's going on. So let's start by saying that I'm upgrading a current pc rocking a cpu: e2200.. I've upgraded it to a Xeon E5450
The processor is modded and after installing the microcodes for the xeon in the bios, system becomes unstable at boot. I've checked the bios file that I've modded and I don't see a problem with it..
But most strange thing is that if the system shuts down unexpectedly (switching the psu off), and i turn it back on it says: "Overclock failed!..." and let's me choose from either switching things in bios, or bringing everything to default and booting me into windows. The only way I've managed to get into windows is by choosing the option for default bios files.

I haven't touched anything in the bios settings so they are practically everytime default. Also when I was using the e2200 the system ran without a problem.
Any help would be awesome!

PC Specs:
CPU: Xeon E5450
RAM: 2x2GB 800MHZ, 2X1GB 566MHZ DDR2 RAM
MB: Asus P5B

Ok I found that the system even struggles to post now, unless I directly plug the power out..

It doesn't matter if the motherboard is out of warranty, the will try to help you. It's just good customer relations for them. You bought one of their motherboards in the past and they hope you will buy another in the future, because you've had a good experience using Asus products.

I kind of doubt they're technical support will give me any information for a non-warranty board, made in 2006. I'll try though.
