I'm new to the forum, I have a computer problem.
System:
cpu- r7 2700
mobo - gigabyte x470 aorus ultra gaming
videocard - Gigabyte geforce gtx 1070 ti windforce 8g
ram - g skill ripjaws V F4-3200C16D-16GVKB (2*8GB)
psu - BitFenix Formula Gold 450W
drives - Samsung 970 EVO 250GB and Samsung 960 evo 500GB
The computer crashed yesterday and has problems booting.
At first it wouldn't boot at all, the troubleshootleds would either stay on cpu or go from cpu to dram to vga to cpu.
After unplugging it it would boot one time correctly, after that it wouldn't post until the next time it was unplugged.
Tried removing all drives, using one ram stick (tried both) in different ram slots, removed video card and plugged it back in, all of this didn't remove the problem. But unplugging the m.2 ssd made it post around 50% of the time, I installed it in the second m.2 slot and the booting succes stays at 50%. When succesfully booted, selecting reboot will allways result in failure to post (cpu led on), hard resetting lets it boot again. Tried resetting bios settings and cmos jumper reset. Updating bios didn't help either.
I'm at a loss at the moment to what is actually broken, the cpu, mobo or psu.
Also even while "soft-off pwr-btn" is set to "delay 4sec." the computer shuts down immediately when touching the power button (both in windows and ubuntu). The computer ran for 7+ months without any problems.
Update:
new psu didn't help.
Problem solved with new motherboard. (MSI X470 gaming plus).
