PC sometimes won't boot (no beep and cpu led stays on)

I just recently built my new PC, however sometimes it will not boot properly. Sometimes (usually after extended periods of not using it) it will only power on to the point of running the case fans etc. It doesn't give the post beep, and the cpu led on the mobo stays lit red. Most of the time all I have to do is power it off by holding the power button and retry and it works, but I don't know if that is bad for my PC.

The only strange thing I can think of is that one of my standoffs was slightly stripped near the top so i couldn't use the same type of screw as the others to lock it in because the screw wasn't long enough to lock in place. So essentially I had to use a spare standoff to screw into that stripped standoff because it was longer (if that makes sense).

I'm not sure if this is a PSU problem or the motherboard or what. This is my first PC that I've built, but it was pretty recent so it's not a problem of age.

My relevant PC specs:
i7 4770k cpu
gtx 760 msi hawk
ASUS z87-a mobo
HAF 932 coolermaster case
corsair TX 750W PSU
2x4gb 2133 MHz RAM (gskill ripjaws)
sandisk 120gb SSD
WD HDD 1TB
ASUS CD/DVD drive
(let me know if I need to be more specific or add more detail to my build)

Thanks in advance

update: I've read mainly that this might be a PSU problem, but I don't see why my PSU couldn't handle my build if that is the case.

Update: It did not re-occur for 3 days, but it happened again on the 4th day. I'm not sure what needs to be done even after extensive reading on here and other sites. I went through the checklist to no avail. The problem with using another PSU to check is that I don't know if it's working just randomly (like it does now) or if that was the solution.

P.S. Could bumping my PC case with my knee occasionally cause these problems by shifting hardware connected to mobo slightly?

I have this problem to, turn on and off the computer until it shows post messages. The problem maybe is your motherboard. Maybe VRM (Voltage Regulator Module) was broken. Just buy a new motherboard to fix your problem.
