hey i was cleaning my system, using a blow dryer. Afterwards mobo is not detecting the speakers through the 3.5mm jack. I checked the speakers they work fine in using my cell phone's 3.5mm jack.

i had removed the graphic card, ram and mobo battery.

both 3.5mm jack behind and in front are not working using speaker's 3.5mm jack, i tried with set of headphones still same issue not working !

Also for some reason it keep going to LG monitor connected via DVI input for speakers, it has none but has audio jack port with is as good as nothing.

I uninstalled realtek driver and reinstalled but same issue..

  1. mobo: Gigabyte 85MD3H
  2. Graphic card 1650super connected to LG monitor via DVI cable
speaker option coming all grayed out..

i am connected to wireless usb keyboard and mouse, and one hdd on usb. They are all working.

The audio jack is standard 3.5mm behind desktop mobo, i don't think this is a usb-related issue is it?

update: could not get the port working used new HDD with new OS too. Had to buy creative usb blaster play 3, its ok. But in terms of sound quality comped to realtek one don't notice any much difference !
