it, although I know little to nothing about pc specs and hardware, in general, I know that my GPU department is in dire need of an upgrade
Here are some of my options and their prices

Nvidia Asus Geforce GTX 1050 2GB - $205
Nvidia Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 2GB - $210
AMD XFX Radeon RX 550 4GB DDR5 - $195
Nvidia PNY Geforce GTX1050TI 4GB ddr5- $240

Scared of picking an AMD card due Direct 12

Which one should i pick?
is there something else i should upgrade ?

The make and model of your PSU isn't include nor of it's age. Please pass it on. I'd ask you to get the GTX1050Ti 4GB version. That would be a worthwhile investment for you.
