hey im looking to upgrade my pc as I'm an average gamer. I built this pc about 2 years ago pretty cheap. What should I upgrade for maximum performance. Looking to get more fps out of games.

GeForce gtx 1050 3g gpu
AMD radion 7600 a-8 cpu
1t hdd
8gig ddr4 ram
Asus a68hm-k motherboard

Using this with an older Lenovo 1600x900 60hz monitor. (Had to get an adapter to fit vga monitor to hdmi gpu) the people im gaming with are telling me to get a 144hz 1080p monitor first for better fps and smoother gameplay.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You could upgrade to an A10 APU but for all intents and purposes, any money spent is best spent on getting an entry level concurrent spec'd gaming system.

A whole new system and monitor? Really? Is my system that bad?

My friend used to have the same question not long ago.

I don't know what kind of gaming pc you are looking for, But I'm guessing you are going for mid end pc build

So I would recommend GTX 1650 as your new graphics card and Another 8 GB Ram .

That is good enough for a budget mid end pc build.

Okay so with the 1650 and 8 more gigs would it run a 144hz monitor?

Using 650w beast power supply
GTX 1650 should have no problem running games at 1080p 144hz.
Or you could Pay a little more and get GTX 1650 Super, better value for your money.

GTX 1650 can run Esport games at 1080p/144hz reaching highest fps of 190ish fps for CSGO and lowest fps at 50-60 for game such as pubg and Overwatch.

While GTX 1650 Super lowest fps is above 70-65 fps so that is a 15-20 increase in frames!

All games are at maximum graphics.

So consider the following,
GTX 1650 Super: 170$-200$
GTX 1650 : 145$-180%

PS: An extra 8GB ram is a must have.

What is your budget?

Your best upgrade will depend on the kinds of games you play.

Some games are graphics limited like fast action shooters.
Others are cpu core speed limited like strategy, sims, and mmo.
Multiplayer tends to like many threads.

Try this simple test:
Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
This makes the graphics card loaf a bit.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

What is the make/model of your psu?
A significantly stronger graphics card may also need a stronger psu.

If you are cpu limited, there are no effective cpu upgrades.
If you need a cpu upgrade, a I3-10100, a lga1200 motherboard and a 2 x 8gb DDR4 ram kit will be about $230.
