PC starting but no screen signal

I bought a second hand pc from a dutch site named "Marktplaats". But when i turn on the pc the screen doesn't get a signal. I've tried cleaning the RAM sticks, reseat the videocard, replace the BIOS battery and connect to another monitor with a different cable.
my monitor is working, when i connect it to my laptop it does work.

Are you connecting the monitor to the graphics card, or motherboard?

I tried both, my graphics card has two DVI inputs and my motherboard has one DVI and one VGA

Try removing the graphics card and see if the onboard does work. What board using?

Try testing the motherboard video port, with graphics card removed.

It does work now. Is my graphics cars broken or is the connection with the motherboard broken?

What ports on the graphics card and monitor are you using?

There are two DVI ports on the graphics card. On the monitor is one VGA port so I'm using a coupler to connect to the graphics card. I don't know if this is bad or not.
It's an ASUS HD 6950.

I'm sorry i didn't respond for so long. The problem was the cable. I trird it with 3 different cables but somehow they were all broken.
