I recently built my first pc, it is mainly built for gaming.
Everything is working fine, however, there is a problem when starting the pc.
When i press the power button, the power button will light up and the fans start to spin normally, however it takes a good 5-10 seconds before the actual boot starts.
If a monitor is connected, it will display "no signal detected" for the first 5-10 seconds. After those seconds, the motherboard screen appears and it continues its normal boot.
Does anyone have any idea how i can fix this.
I want my pc to instantly show the motherboard screen and boot fast.
Thanks in advance

Are you using windows 10?. Have you checked your ssd to make sure that doesn't have any bad sectors? Do you have any external hard-drives connected to the computer ?. You can check your disk doing a right click on drive C:/ > Properties > Select Tools > Check now.

Using Microsoft ScanDisk and Defrag or similar disk utilities can help verify your hard drive is running free of errors
Update drivers and Windows

Corrupt, incorrect, or out-of-date drivers can cause a number of different issues. Make sure your computer has the latest drivers as well as any available Microsoft Windows updates.

For your SSD have you tried using the Samsung Magician software to optimize the drive? if not you should do that.

I tried this but it did unfortunately not have any effect

Try this 1

1) When you switch ON your computer, start tapping the "F8" key to get

"Windows Advanced Options"( if boot menu appears, press "Esc" key and keep

tapping the F8 key)

2) Select the option "Safe Mode" and press Enter

3) Click on Start --> In search box, type --> msconfig and press Enter.

"System Configuration Utility" will be opened.

Click on the "Startup" tab --> Click on the button "Disable all"

4) Now click on "Services" tab --> Check the checkbox "Hide All Microsoft Services"

--> Now click on "Disable All" --> Click on "OK" button and restart your PC.

5) Log into your window normally and if a window appears regarding the changes

that you have made, check the checkbox "Don't show this message or launch the

System Configuration Utility when Windows start" and click on OK.

If you have successfully started your windows normally then follow the step 3

and enable your startup items one by one and restarting your PC.

Disable the unnecessary startup items.

Good Luck

I have always done this to my computers and they boot a lot faster. I saw it online when trying to help you fix your problem and i remembered that you should make sure that you have selected the "QUICK BOOT'' option In your bios. If you hold the DEL key when you start up your computer (or whatever key your BIOS tells you to hold to enter the bios screen setup), you can turn on the “Quick Boot” option and move your hard disk to the top of the boot priority list. The Quick Boot setting will turn off the tests your computer runs when it first turns on and the boot priority tweak will tell your computer not to look for CDs, thumb drives, external haedrives or other media when it first starts, which will get you booted into your OS quicker.

Okay i tried all of this but it didnt change anything. I have done some more research and found out is is a somewhat common problem with msi b350 motherboards, i guess ill just have to wait for bios updates then... thanks for the help though!

It seems to be the hardware detection phase that abnormally long,
when you turn on your pc.
Make sure to disable any options in your bios, that you don't need.

Set them on disabled.

Make sure bios is set to look for a add-on GPU.

Also try plugging your monitor in another connector on your GPU,
mine has 4 connectors, that get scanned from 1-4, if I connect on 4
it takes roughly 4-5 seconds longer....

That's what I told him to do but i guess no luck?:??:
