Hi! I literally just replaced my processor from a FX-4130 to a FX-6300. Not all went well since the old processor went off WITH the damn heatsink! No broken pins amazing! I'm not gonna use the old one anymore anyways.

Well, that's not related to this topic, so let me ask my question. On my first boot with the new processor, I went on device manager and my pc still thinks I'm using the old one. That got me confused.

Is it normal?

Cheers!

It may be that your BIOS is not sufficiently updated to recognise the 6300. To confirm this, please post your motherboard and its BIOS version. You can find your BIOS version by entering BIOS when you boot and looking for a version number.

Its a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3. BIOS version is FA 4/23/2013

I wasn't trying to be mean or anything, but I found it ridiculous that people said I have to update chipset drivers and all that, when it simply needed to reboot xD
