Hello, it's my first time using this forum, so if I'm doing anything wrong just tell me :)

Alright so today I've received a "Kioxia Exceria Pro SSD 1TB NVMe M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 x4". After installing it, everything seemed correct but the SSD wasn't appearing on the windows explorer, so I booted up BIOS to check if it was there, my motherboard is a "Gigabyte B560M DS3H V2". It was there so I just thought I had to create a partition or something, but I noticed an option called "Self-test" and thought I'd just use it before leaving BIOS. Well, after 80% had been completed, my PC turned off and on again, LED lights were turned on and the same thing with CPU fan, but GPU fans stopped working after a little time, peripherals didn't turn on, and the screen gave no signal.

I've been searching for info about this, so far I've tried removing the SSD and booting the PC on again, removing GPU, use the CMOS reset pins, and disconnecting every peripheral from the PC and hold the power button for 2-3 sec. But nothing has worked so far. I'm afraid the motherboard has broken and I need to replace it, but just thought of posting this to see if someone can help me. Thanks.

I believe you when you say you used a menu, I just can't seem to find it. I don't see any functions on BIOS that would run to an 80% mark and then cause the problems.

i was going to suggest the Gigabyte UK forums but they seem to have disappeared... the US ones were deleted last year. How people supposed to get help?

I see if anyone else has any ideas.
I managed to fix it, not really sure how. I removed the battery from the motherboard, and took out both RAM sticks, then inserted all again. Maybe I didn't do the CMOS reset right the first time.

Anyway thanks for the help!
What tab in bios was self test on? I don't recognise that option

I can't see it here but I might have missed it - https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_b560m-ds3h_e_1101.pdf

did you try another output on GPU? might have randomly swapped from HDMI to Display port for instance. Especially after resetting cmos.

I can see nvme can run self test but not sure how that wouid show in bios. I am just going from the manual, don't actually have board here to look.

If I recall correctly the self-test option was in the tab Settings it had some NVME option to display installed SSD. You could choose any of them and run that self-test. I might be wrong and this option was somewhere else like in favourites tab but judging by the manual I think it was the Settings tab. Thanks for the help I will try to connect it using display port but not sure if that will work as no peripheral works either.
