Well it began this morning when the power went out while the pc was on. So I had to leave for work anyways so I just flipped the switch on the psu and left it alone. Now I came home and at first I thought the pc was broke. Well I played around for a little and ended up unhooking the HDD and SSD to see if it would boot. BAM! We had progress. So I reconnect the SSD and sure enough Windows boots up in no time. So I try to connect the HDD and same problem. Now my question would be do you think it'd work normally if I wiped the HDD, or should I look at getting a new one?

CPU: Intel i5 4670k
MB: ASUS Z87-A
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb
GPU: EVGA GTX 760
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB :/
SSD: Samsung 840EVO 120gb
PSU: SeaSonic 650W 80+ Gold

First off try the HDD on a different system, see how it behaves ! If you see same results then I would say the HDD is dead. RMA it or replace it.

Edit :- Remove the SSD and plug-in the HDD (on your system) and go to BIOS, see if the HDD is there or not ? If you cant see the HDD in BIOS then its safe to say its gone. Also you can try different ports on MB and different SATA cables. Good luck.

I gave it to one of my friends for him to check it out. I can't even get past the splash screen if the HDD is plugged in at all. Would I be able to get a refund / replacement through amazon for it?

-- I don't mind wiping it, I just built the pc last sunday. Everything is running smooth atm without the HDD.
