My pc is stuck at 60 hz i had it at 144hz before i made pc upgrades and now i cant even see options . I installed my drivers. I have a dual link dvi cable ,my monitor can go up to 144hz Only think i can think of is that maybe the cord went bad on me.I bought new ram, graphic card, and motherboard. I also have my monitor plugged into the gpu. Any suggestions help thank you tomorrow i will be buying a new cord for the update. Thank you

"now i cant even see options " In the nvidia driver for the 1080? Then cable is a good guess. The information on what your monitor supports flows from the monitor to the PC (called EDID, google it), this infor does not come from the MB or windows. If 144 hz is not showing up then EDID information is not getting through correctly or the negotiated rate on the video cable is very low or the driver is bad.

0. Reset BIOS to defaults, SAVE and try again. You need to do this anytime you take a MB from a box, the settings on the MB can be bad. Do this also if you load a new level of a BIOS.
1. Reseat cables --> you did this
2. try different ports on the 1080
3. Try OLDER driver for the gtx 1080. Sometimes driver levels have bugs or install wrong (PC memory doesn't even have parity checking). If it works then try the newer driver again
4. Go into windows and uninstall anything that looks video related and try again
5. Try Supahos's suggestion -- reinstall windows. Some software optimizes for the MB chipset you are using. When you picked up the new MB maybe you got something bad. For me, if the PC actually boots, I've never had to reinstall windows on a MB (or complete PC) swap. You can do a REPAIR BUILD of win10 without losing your programs.

I tried a fresh installation of windows ,i completely wiped my pc twice, i tried an older version of my graphics drivers and nothing worked and i bought a new dvi cable the only thing left to do is to uninstall my graphics card drivers and put my old card in there and see if i get 144hz again but im truly just stuck i might have take it in to a computer store and see if they can fix it.
