Hi, I'm new here.
My PC has encountered some sort of... I don't know what to call it.
But basically, I replaced a few mods in Skyrim and I launched it up.
So far so good, after roughly 2 minutes in the game, pink lines and textures started appearing which made my game unresponsive. But that was not the worst part. The worst part is, my entire PC crashed and restarted. So I'm thinking to myself that; "OK, ill just put back the other mods." But no. My start up screen was in very low resolution with some pink lines on the ASUS start up screen. And throughout the restart process, everything is in low resolution. then it gets to the windows loading screen, again, low resolution. After 1 minute, THE DAMN THING RESTARTS!!! and happens for 2 - 3 times until it brings me the recovery screen telling me how I want to resolve the issue. Now take these notes into consideration:
1) Refresh - Did not work
2) Fix start up - Did not work
3) Recovery Mode - Did not work, it just kept the current version
Im in safe mode with networking trying to type this message and I don't know what the problem is or how it started, someone help me on this thing. This is a $3000 Setup and one screw up would mean losing worth.
Here is a step by step process on how this problem occurred:
1) Mod replacement
2) Launch Skyrim
3) 2 minute gameplay
4) Game became unresponsive and textures of pink showed up mostly on white sections of the game (The white text)
5) PC restarts on Low - Resolution with pink lines scattered on the ASUS logo
6) Low resolution on the windows loading screen (no pink lines)
7) After loading, it restarts the same way in step 5
8) After 2 restarts, Recovery screen appears
9) Tried all possible actions with no avail
10) Loaded safe mode with networking
11) Typing this message with severely deteriorated hope
I don't know much about what my computer has, my brother installed it for me.
Nvidia EVGA GeForce GTX 580
8 GB Ram
1 TB Hard-drive (San Disk)
ASUS Motherboard (don't ask me which one)
1000 watt power supply
Additional info:
There was no temperature increase or decrease when all of this happened.
I won't bother with how it happened, I just want a solution.
I will post a video of it soon.
UPDATE: OK, while I was in safe mode, I rolled back the driver and restarted.
However more pink lines appeared at the bottom portion of the ASUS loadscreen.
But a light has shown, I was able to get back into the normal windows. However, for every solution I find, more problems occur, I cant seem to put back the resolution to 1920 x 1200! its stuck at 800 x 640 and i can't go any higher. So a little snooping here and there and I don't have enough evidence for this but it seems like the latest Nvidia game ready driver is whats causing this but im not too sure about it. I tried installing it with the clean installation ticked and yet again to no avail did it solve any problems, it just restarted and I'm back prior to the installation. Here is a point form of what happened:
1) Rolled back the driver
2) Restarted PC
3) More pink lines at the bottom portion of ASUS load screen
4) Low-Res Window loading screen
5) Now able to log back into normal windows
6) Installed new Nvidia game ready driver
7) PC Crash at 15% and automatic restart
8) Done steps 5 and 6 again with same result
9) Inducing Agonizing pain of frustration
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME ON THE UPDATED INFO?!
AND CAN NVIDIA MAKE AN UPDATE THAT WORKS?!
