PC stuck on verifying pool data

I have an old mid range pc, about 5 years old. My gf needed some pics off her old external drive but the pc would not recognize it. After restarting the problem began.

Even after disconnecting the external drive, the problem persists. My pc does not have an optical drive, nor do I have recovery disks. I can't get the bios menu or boot options to work either. Any suggestions would be great!

try cmos reset .
