PC stutters at 12am every day

For the last few weeks I've had an issue that occurs the same exact time every day. At exactly 12am, any game that I'm playing or video that I'm watching stutters for about 3 secs. Both the video (FPS if a game) and audio are affected. I've done a search in the event viewer custom views, windows logs, and application and service logs and can't find any warning or event that happens at 12am. Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be happening? I'm very positive that I'm using the latest drivers and windows is up to date.

I don't make regularly scheduled backups. So windows is not set to back itself up every day.

Scheduled virus scan?

I use Kaspersky 2011. I have an automatic scan scheduled once every week not every day. Even though Kaspersky is set to automatically update, it does this frequently throughout the day and not just at 12 am. I have no issues when it does update during the rest of the day. On top of that, Kaspersky has a gaming profile that I have selected where Kaspersky does not update, run scans, or take any action while I am in a game in fullscreen mode.

Maybe a number of software is shifting to the new date, such as IM messengers?

Wouldn't any program starting up or making changes be logged in the windows event viewer? The only programs that I have set to run in the background during startup and selected in msconfig is my virus scan software and ATI catalyst control center. When I am having my issue, I also have my browser open if I'm streaming netflix/youtube. Or no browser if I'm playing a game.

Any major appliance coming on?
Are there enough amps on the circuit breaker for everything?
Power from my circuit breaker panel isn't an issue. My computer isn't on the same circuit as any appliances and I don't have any external appliances or hardware in my house starting up at 12am anyway.

prob a virus scan or a defrag

See above for my comment on the virus scan. My defrag is scheduled once a week and not for 12am at that.

That's what I thought. I parsed Event viewer/custom views, Event viewer/wndows logs (application, security, setup, system, etc), and event viewer/applications and service logs (ACEEventLog and other subfolders). I don't see anything going on at 12am. I see applications going into the running and stopped states 15-20 mins before my problem and about 30 mins after my problem but nothing at the time my problem is occurring.
