Hi,

I started having this issue about a month ago. I normally leave my computer running all day, every day and reboot about once a week. Recently, I noticed that audio was stuttering when I watch youtube videos (the video would stutter, and the audio would slow and sound robotic for a few seconds). Then, I noticed that it's not just youtube videos, it's any time I use my network (load web pages, download files, etc) and it's not just audio, the entire system slows and stutters. I move my mouse and it jumps around the screen. The closest thing I can relate it to is low FPS in a video game.

When I reboot my PC, it runs completely fine for a day. If I leave it on for over a day, the stuttering starts happening again, and it gets worse the longer the PC remains on.

I don't think this is software related. I updated all drivers, cleaned my system (temp files, all browser caches, etc), defragmented my HDDs, rolled back my system to a period before i noticed the issues (I keep daily images of my system). Also fully cleaned/air dusted system, removed cards and RAM, and many other simple maintenance tasks but the issue remains. System temperatures appear to be normal. The warmest component is my graphics card, at high 60s C under load. My last troubleshooting method would be to wipe my PC and reinstall everything from scratch but that would be a lot of work and may not resolve the issue so I'm hoping I can try other things first to narrow the issue further.

My PC specs:

Windows 10 Pro x64 build 10.0.10586
Bitdefender antivirus
Intel Ivy bridge i7-3770K 3.5 Ghz quad core processor
16GB DDR3 1600 Mhz RAM
Asus P8Z77-V LK motherboard
nVidia GTX 560 TI graphics card, using dual monitors
Antec 620 Watt ATX modular power supply
120 GB Samsung 840 SSD for system OS
RAID 10 array of 1TB HDDs for application files
Motherboard LAN port: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
Motherboard Sound: Realtek High Definition Audio

All hardware has the latest drivers as of 5-16-16, including drivers for Windows 10 that were available.

Peripherals: Mechanical backlit keyboard, Logitech G600 mouse, two external HDDs externally powered, misc. USB devices (printer, print reader, web cam)

If anyone could provide any further troubleshooting methods or any ideas of what could be going bad on my system to cause these symptoms, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Power settings on my PC have always been high performance, disks never shut down, but I double checked the options and they're still set to that.

BIOS is not the latest version. Asus gives .CAP file which I have no idea how to install, but I will try doing that today and report results in a few days...

you put the bios file on a usb & restart pc
open bios
select advanced
tools
ez flash 2
navigate directories to find thumb drive
then select it and press okay to update bios

see here for a model very close to yours:

Colif, thanks for the directions. I successfully updated the bios to the latest version.

I will leave my PC running again and test it in a day or two. I'll report back the results... Appreciate the help so far.
