Hi!

PC Specs
Graphics: ASUS GTX960 Strix 2gb
Motherboard: ASUS Z97 Sabertooth
CPU: i5 4960k
RAM: 2x Corsair Vengeance DDR3 @ 8gb ea (16gb total)
PSU: Seasonic modular 650w

The pc seems to randomly reboot (during game) when I play FFXIV, however only recently. I have been able to play this game without issues for weeks before. I am above the recommended requirements by a good margin in both game requirements and in build. My CPU does not seem be overheating at all, and neither is the gpu.

I have checked in the eventviewer for any culprits but there is none in the kernel and I can't reliably recreate this issue to find the error or the cause.

I did a an OCCT PSU test, and after a few minutes it created the exact same sudden reboot as it did before when I was playing FFXIV.

I'm not too sure what to look for specifically with these tests such as voltage sags and such, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

As soon as I started reading -0 I thought "it sounds like PSU".. and then your comment above makes me more sure.
Sounds like your PSU cant cope. You can try cleaning it our as best you can.. but it may just have come to the end of its life (how old is it?)..
If you can test with a different PSU - do that.. but my money would be on PSU.

Cheers

I'm afraid I don't have an appropriate spare PSU to test, so I guess I'll be testing with my money tomorrow, heh.

The PSU is about two years old, which isn't that much but it has gone through some rough treatment with power issues like blackouts every so often, as well as being left on 24/7 which from what I know, does reduce the overall lifespan of it and other components.

I'm looking at new PSU's now and I've found these.

My current concern is if either of those two are compatible with my gpu slots. My card is currently using (as far as I'm aware) a 6 pin.

I don't I'm afraid.

The problem is that it's hard to replicate this issue on point to show it off, the only way I can do so is with OCCT, if I try the videogame it could happen in five minutes, or it could happen after a few hours - which is why I'm pretty confused for the PSU if that's the fault, for it be so randomized. For further context, it didn't seem to matter what I was doing ingame at all, weither I was standing alone somewhere or in the middle of a large group.
