Really strange.
Hadnt any single problem with hard drives in the past.. Till now. Yesterday night i putted my pc to sleepmode.. Now today i put my pc back on and was surfing for a bit. Then suddenly i had to restart the pc because it frozes.
I restarted it and there was a message of: select another boot device or change priority or so. In my bios my ssd wasnt recognized anymore. I changed the sata cable and did a bios reset, but nothing helped.
It is a Samsung 840 pro 256gb drive. Maybe 6 months old now.

Is it dead or?
Someone with a solution?

If it wont recognize in bios the quick answer is no.

I mean if you wanted to spend huge money sending it to Samsung or recovery firm to have them extract the memory chips to see if data is still on it that is possible, but I doubt the data is worth that price tag.

Backups, Backups, Backups. 1TB hard drive is often less then $50 nowadays.

I know, but still
Who expects that a ssd drive dies within 6 months?
I think its better to go back to the store and ask for a refund or replacement or what do you think is best?

Well a friend of mine buyed a mouse from a famous online shop here in the country. His mouse was broken after also like 5-6 months, they gave a refund.
Ps. I used the sata to usb connector to another pc, the connector lights up, so it must have power but I dont think it recognize it, although I dont see anything in the bios. Old motherboard aswell

Its always possible sata/usb will not show up in bios.

You should see the SSD drive in disk management once windows is booted if it mounted correctly.
You could possibly have to assign it a drive letter in disk management for it to show up in My Computer.

If it does mount on the other computer, I would run Samsung magician to test the health of the drive.
