Hi,

To begin with, my PC Specs are:
- MSI 970A-G46
- AMD FX 6300 + Hyper EVO 212 (No overclock)
- AMD HD Radeon 7750 (Sapphire) (Not overclocked)
- 4GB Kingston DDR3 RAM
- 550W PSU

So the computer was functioning properly, but yesterday, when I turned it on, I saw a weird BIOS message saying that the "BIOS settings were reset to default, F1 to enter BIOS settings, F2 to continue". Linux boots normally, but Windows gives a blue screen of death and halts the computer while loading.

After that, the computer no longer boots, when I click the power switch, the fans start, I can hear the hard disk sound starting, BUT the display stays off, the keyboard and the mouse do not turn on, and it stays in this state whenever I turn the computer on.

I have tested the battery's voltage, it is giving fully 3V, which means its functioning properly. I do not have the CMOS jumper set to reset, but I have tried resetting the CMOS.

Update: [strike]To make it boot again, I need to reinsert the 24-pin wire from the motherboard, when I do so, the whole thing begins again, starting with the "BIOS settings were reset to default".[/strike] No longer works.

Note: Speaker gives no beeps.

Thanks in advance!

do you have a spare PSU? Doesn't have to be Haswell certified, just to make sure your problem is not the PSU.
Your workaround with the 24 pin no longer works... So it could be the PSU, or the Mobo. I'd say your PSU was problematic and it fried something on your mobo.

I know you tried the paperclip, but that isn't proof that your PSU is good. Get another one.

Okay so we are pretty sure that your PSU is good.

Please tell me your logic that your mobo is good. Booting once successfully and then not booting does not tell me that the mobo is good.

I was going to tell you to replace the battery but it looks like you already checked it. Checking the battery (I assume you took it out of the mobo to check the voltage) will reset the bios (cMOS).

At this point I guess you can reseat your ram try different slots. I'm not betting on it will fix your problem.

Tried changing RAM slot :S

?
removing the power cable from PSU and pressing power button will make sure that there is no left over electricity on the board/prevention against ESD.
How does that even help in this situation? But hey, OP, at this point you might as well try everything.

Didn't work. :/

Is there a way to know if its a faulty RAM stick if its the only stick I have?

okay you can try removing the ram (no ram on any slot)
See if beeper (chassis speaker) beep when you try to boot.

Also take out your sapphire gpu after you tried removing the ram (remember to put the ram back)
is the beeper beeping when you do that?

Only after the above two, take out both ram and gpu, see if the beeper beeps.
