Hey there,
So I wake up this morning, PC won’t boot. It shows a Q 53 code, which is memory related on my board. Also shows the Dram LED. I tried to mess around with ram, took it out, put it back in, in different orders and all slots and only 1, etc..
Went through everything, no luck. Tried to boot without GPU and boots up fine. I also have a spare GPU (AMD 4870) which it boots up with fine. Tested the 980ti in all PCIE slots, no luck. Never had this happen before. Will not POST with the GPU, even if I have the hdmi connected to the motherboard instead.
Any ideas what it could be? I pulled my card apart and blew all the dust, replaced thermal paste and had a look at the PCB. Nothing jumped out as ‘fried’ to me. No water damage, PCB seemed in good shape. Checked for any blown capacitors, resistors or whatnot and nothing seemed off.
PC boots fine off the integrated graphics. I was using my PC less than 12 hours ago, and it just refuses to boot. Nothing was out of the ordinary about last shutdown either, just like every other time.
All signs point to a dead GPU, but really hoping this isn’t the case as prices (especially here in australia) are obscene. $1200+ for a 3060ti is ridiculous, and something I cannot justify paying even remotely when I hardly play games nowadays as it is.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
