Hello, my PC is freezing randomly (while browsing, gaming, etc.) I downloaded AIDA64 and saw that my PCH temps reach 68-79 on heavy load. Can be consequence of this? thanks.
Yes it can be the source of freeze ups, but unless you provide more info any answer is speculative.
Thx for your answer. When freezing i don't get BSOD. My mobo is a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H, 4 sticks RAM Kingston HyperX 2400mhz (have ran memtest with no error) 2x gtx 590 quad SLI, Core i7 3770k no overclock, PSU Cooler Master 1200w.
I've noticed that the freezes began after the instalation of the 2nd gtx 590. I think is due to the extreme heat they provoque, the PCH is between the two cards....
If the PCH is between the two cards, the possible problem is that the two cards are creating a kind of barrier and not allowing the air to flow as it should in that specific place. See if you can place a FAN removing hot air from between the two cards.
The two GTX 590s may be causing a heat problem that is not only overloading the PCH, but the entire system. A single 590 can power almost any game on max max settings. What are your video requirements that require such GPU power?
Thanks to you all, I've tried to place a fan but only drops to 55-63. I still getting freezes but less often. I will replace the stock heatsink to a better chipset cooler, hope to find one that fits my SLI cards... THX again!
