I recently bought an HDMI switch hoping to run a bluray player and my PC into the same monitor in my bedroom. After installing it (a belkin Pro 1000 2 input), the monitor gave me a HDMI: check signal cable message so I assumed the switch was faulty and replaced it with a J-Tech Digital HDMI Switch 3x1, and have found the same problem occurs.
Directly plugging the PC (GTX670WF) into the monitor is fine, but adding a switch gives me this 'signal cable' error.
Any idea what might be causing it? my theory (which is rather unlikely) is my cables aren't carrying the signal strong enough. I have 3ft from the PC to the switch, and 3ft from the switch to the monitor. (all cables tested and working).
