PC tower tipped over (I know) help!!

Before I begin here are some specs:

i7 3770k
16 GB Kingston Ram
1TB HDD
Nvidia GTX 670 2gb

So, I used to run everything at max and get awesome performance on most if not all games. While moving to my new apartment my buddy accidentally knocked my tower over. Since then my performance has been terrible.. to give you an idea i used to get 200+ fps on CS:GO and now i dip into the 30's....

my cpu temps are ridiculous now. 50-60c while idling and into the 100's while gaming...
my gpu temps sit at 50c as well and while gaming i actually havent checked...

I disassembled the PC and noticed the thermal compound on my CPU is practically nonexistent. Could have the jolt knocked my heatsink/fan assembly lose from the thermal compound and cpu? Or am i potentially looking into hardware failure?

It's at least worth trying to reseat the CPU cooler with new thermal paste. And check out if case airflow is as it should be, no cables or other stuff got knocked loose and hindering airflow (or even a fan connector being unplugged if you were really unlucky).

Give your CPU a fresh pea sized drop of new thermal paste after you clean it , and see how it performs.

Likely your CPU heatsink got dislodged. Fix that. Clean all the old paste off and reapply.
Clean all the dust out.
Check ALL your other connections.

start by ordering some Arctic Silver paste and cleaning compound

Clean and reapply thermal compound to the processor heatsink. While you're there get canned air and clean the fan(s)

Make sure all wires are firmly plugged and that all cards and memory sticks are re-seated and in correctly. Pay attention to the RAM, since it may be easy to dislodge and not apparent.

Make sure your GPU is seated properly and also that it's electrical connections are in place.


Finally, make sure your monitor is not accidentlaly plugged into the video ports of the motherboard, but into the ports on the GPU.

After all of this, get Speccy and use it to ensure that the configuration of your PC is as you expect it to be. Post a screenshot of Speccy and the temperatures.
