My PC was fine but I bought a new case fan which I connected to my motherboard. While I was playing a game, my pc lost power unexpectedly and started to turn on and off repeatedly. I switched it off, unplugged my power cable, disconnected the fan and drained the power by holding the power button for 30 seconds. And guess what, my pc is running again. What do you think is the problem here?

PC Specs :
ASRock H310CM HDV
i5-9400F
GSkill Ripjaws 8GB DDR4 3000Mhz
Asus Strix GTX 1060
Corsair VS 450 PSU
The new fan that I bought is : Deepcool RF120

Solution
The VS shouldn't be considered a PSU in any regards. On top of that you should be working with more wattage on your platform seeing how you have a GTX 1060 in there. You might want to source a donor PSU that is reliably built like one by Seasonic or at the very least look at a Corsair CX 550(grey label) PSU and try powering the system. Age of the PSU?

As for your case fan, are you sure you plugged it into the right ports? Make and model of the fan in question?

Very carefully pull the wires on the fan cable where they go into the plug , did they move ?
My custom built pc had not got one fan plugged in as it would have fouled on the transit packing , i did not notice this.
When i started it up it did not go to desktop , a box came up saying componant not detected.

As Lutfig says .... check your mobo manual to see if you put the fan wire on the right connector

Yeah I mentioned the name and brand of the fan in my post and as for the PSU, yes I'm considering buying a new one
