PC Turning Off

So I've been having problems with my PC turning off on various games when I turn it to ultra graphics. The main culprit was Total War Rome 2 which would always crash no matter what when I had it on the optimal settings, but it would happen after about 10 minutes. The same thing would also happen on Sniper Elite V3 except it would happen after about 30 seconds. I think its a problem with my power, as I have 4 fans and I tried opening the side panel which didnt change anything, so any recommendations for a new power supply would be much appreciated, but I would only like semi or fully modular ones. Also my drivers are all up to date

CPU: i7 4790k
RAM: 8gb G.Skill
PSU: Corsair CX500M
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45
OS: Windows 7
Fans: 4

My guess is your low quality psu crapping out under high load. The CX range are poor quality units with a bad reputation
