Hey all, whenever I shut down my computer it somehow magically turns itself back on. Whether it's immediately after I shut it down, or some time in the night since it's on when I wake up in the morning.

My specs are as follows
- ASRock Z97 Extreme4 motherboard
- 8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
- 1TB HDD (Western Digital0
- 256gb SSD (Samsung Evo)
- Corsair M65 Mouse
- Corsair K70 Keyboard
- Corsair 650W PSU
- EVGA GTX 770
- Need more just ask. Thanks for the help.

I vaguely recall some software that ASRock motherboards have that automatically boots the computer for social media applications or some such non-sense. It was part of the software suite on the motherboard disc that might have been installed during setup.

From another thread, not personal experience though.

I did indeed use the mobo CD when installing. Any idea how I would check this?

I will check for that option later in the day when I get home. Thanks for mentioning it.

Couldn't find the exact name of the software (though it might have been ASUS GO)

Found the following possibilities:

Shorted/loose wire on power button (or incorrect front panel header connection)
Wake On LAN
Restart after AC Power Loss (AC Power Loss Behavior) Slight sags in the incoming power from the wall may trigger a boot.
ErP APM setting must be enabled if you have a wifi card (Possibly ASUS only) otherwise the wifi card stays powered and can boot the PC.
ASUS GO software (ASRock was originally part of ASUS so they may have something similar)
Power management settings in Windows "Wake on Magic Packet from power off state"
Windows task scheduler (virus or malware can be the cause, these days netbots)
